Beating Berlusconi Is Back
It’s playing at the St Georges Hall in the beautiful Small Concert Room. It really is fantastically funny and moving. I went to see it last year and it’s simply the best thing I’ve seen in ages.
It’s based on the true story of a Liverpool fan who somehow ended up in Berlusconi’s executive box at Liverpool’s Champions League win.
Paul Duckworth is tremendous, covering an amazing 40 characters in one show.
Even if you’re not a Liverpool fan – in fact, even if you’re not a football fan – you will love this play. It’s not about football really, it’s about life, politics and this great city. It’s funny, it’s political and it’s moving.
It heads off to London soon. Catch it while you can.
