Woody Guthrie Folk Club to launch

Some news that I hope many of you will be interested in. I am launching a brand new monthly folk club in Liverpool called the Woody Guthrie Folk Club.

I want it to be the place to go for folk music that is fun, exciting, a bit dangerous, and that will make you sit up and take notice.

The launch night is on Thursday 25th February and the venue is Liverpool’s premier real ale pub, the Ship and Mitre on Dale Street (the library/art gallery end).

For more information, check out the website on www.woodyfolk.co.uk.

Hope to see you there!

A brilliant idea – best of luck!!!!

Hi Alan a great idea and I hope that it turns out to be all you hope for… Fair play to you.

Great idea. I recall there was a folk club in that pub, but it finished quite a few years ago. I’ll be there when I can, pint pot and guitar in hand.

Oh yes! They have reasonable cider at the Ship & Mitre too. I’ll need that if there’s a sing song. I’ll be there.

Hmm. The place was packed. I couldn’t get in. I suppose that’s a good thing but I had to stay downstairs and drink lots of cider. Ah well….
