Attila and David Rovics in Liverpool (Fri)

I’m sure those who like their music with a dose of left politics will be thrilled to hear that Attila The Stockbroker and David Rovics are playing in Liverpool on Friday for just a fiver!

You can get your tickets here.

The gig is at the Bad Format Social Club just off Dale Street. Full details are available from the Rathole Radio website.

Given that the Woody Guthrie Folk Club is on the day before at The Ship & Mitre in Dale Street – get your tickets for that here – and the May Day celebrations throughout the city are on Monday – it promises to start up a radical weekend of music and joyousness.

Roddy Doyle Comes To Liverpool

It’s the Writing on the Wall festival time again!! Ten years in fact. Congratulations people!!

It’s a glittering line up so go and see for yourself.

But the pick for me is Roddy Doyle. One of my favourite writers, and significantly the writer of one of my favourite books A Star Called Henry.

The critics panned it. I think it’s a masterpiece.
