Gig With Roy Bailey Sold Out

My gig supporting Roy Bailey tomorrow (Thu) is now sold out.

So only come along if you’ve already sorted your tickets out as there’ll be no entry on the door.

We really are completely packed out.

I’m so looking forward to this gig. As well as playing myself, I love Roy Bailey. He’s a great performer, great singer, and a great human being.

It’ll be lovely to hear him in the intimate setting of my Woody Guthrie Folk Club.

Rich Mans Ruin (Fri 22 April) and Leon Rosselson

As you know, I also play as part of a bolshy folk trio called (suitably) Rich Man’s Ruin.

We are playing as part of the Working Class Life & Music Festival tomorrow night (Fri) at the Sefton Park Palm House.

Better still, we are supporting radical mischief maker Leon Rosselson.

You’ll be thrilled to hear that tickets are still available online at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/104400

For those who hate online sales you can also pay on the door (£9/£7 I believe).

Top Ten In the fRoots Magazine Charts

Wow! I’ve made the Top Ten in the fRoots Magazine folk charts.

You’ll already know fRoots as one of the leading monthly magazines nationally covering the world of folk and roots.

It’s available in all good magazine and music stores, including our very own radical bookstore News From Nowhere on Bold Street.

Check out the latest issue and you’ll see that NfN have been asked to contribute their top ten sellers to the charts pages, and there I am at number 6.

Woohoo!!

Folkscene on BBC Radio Merseyside (Thursday 21 Apr)

I’ll be appearing on BBC Radio Merseyside’s flagship folk show Folkscene on Thursday night as the guest of the always charming Geoff Speed.

Okay, I know I said this last week and I got my mucking dates fuddled up but tonight really is the night!!

I’ll be talking about the huge range of stuff going on at the Working Class Life & Music Festival, and Geoff will be spinning some fitting tunes along the way from his mind boggling collection of music.

You can tune into the show at 9pm on 95.8FM or you can Listen Live at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlive/bbc_radio_merseyside/.

If you miss the show don’t worry. It’s repeated on Tuesday 26th April, or you can listen again through Radio Merseyside’s iPlayer at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_merseyside.

If that whets your appetite for hearing me on the radio, then check out my appearance last Thursday on the radical radio show Under The Pavement on AllFM in Manchester to hear me chatting all things festival.

Their listen again thingymajig is at http://www.underthepavement.org/

Rich Man’s Ruin Supporting Leon Rosselson

Leon Rosselson comes to town as part of the Working Class Life & Music Festival on Friday (22 April).

The event takes place at the wonderful setting of Sefton Park Palm House and, better still, Rich Man’s Ruin are playing support.

As you’ll know, Rich Man’s Ruin is the folk trio comprising of myself, Gabi Monk and Vinny T Spen.

It should be a great night, and Leon is always magnificent.

You can get your tickets online by clicking here.

See you at the Palm House on Friday!!
