Come To My Birthday Party!! (Sat, Feb 11th)

I’m having a birthday party on Saturday 11th February and I’d love you to come along.

It’s my birthday the day after, so when the wonderful Radical Liverpool event asked me to headline their night at Studio 2 on the 11th Feb I jumped at the chance.

I’ll be doing a full hour slot and currently have no other public performances scheduled in Liverpool in 2012.

In fact, last time I did a proper full set at home in Liverpool was back in 2009 so catch me while you can.

Tickets are just £4.50 at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/152308 or £5 on the door on the night.

Also performing are radical folk trio Our Morals, Acoustica, and the very funny poet and singer Greg Quiery. So it’s a real bargain and will be a guaranteed great night out.

Doors open at 7pm, and the fun starts at 7.30pm.

The venue stays open long after the event finishes too, so stick around and have a drink with me afterwards.

Radical Liverpool at Studio 2, Parr Street takes place on Saturday February 11th 2012. Get tickets at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/152308

From My Sickbed

I am writing this brief post from my sick bed.

On Thursday I was taken very suddenly ill.

I’ll spare you the details but I wasn’t simply unwell or off colour, I was in a bad way and completely out the game.

I was really looking forward to my railway songs gig that night and I’m sorry to anyone who was disappointed to find me not there.

I hate to leave people disappointed even when the circumstances are so beyond my control.

I’ve offered to do a free gig when I’m back on my feet so will let you know any details if that offer is taken up.

I best go as I still feel shite but I wanted to say sorry and let you know what’s been going on. Bye for now.

P.S. I’m ok so don’t fret. I hope to be about again in the next few days. Optimistic? We’ll see.

Songs From The Railway – Tickets On Sale

Tickets are now on sale for my show at Metal, Edge Hill Station on Thursday 17th November. You can get tickets here for just £3 (which includes a free hot pot supper).

This event is to promote the ongoing Edge Hill Archive project which launched last Saturday (12th) www.edgehillstation.co.uk.

The show on Thursday is a little different to usual as all the songs will have something of the railway about them.

Joining me are The Good Intentions, recently awarded the mantle of Best Americana Act at the British Country Music Awards, and Molly’s Boys to make what will be a great night of music.

The night starts at 7.30pm. See you there.

PS Remember to get your tickets right here

Next Stop Kirkby – Fri 11 November

After two fab gigs at Leicester and Bolton, my next stop is to help Kirkby Unemployed Centre celebrate their 30th birthday.

There’s a load of events throughout the day starting at 1pm, including the fab Liverpool Socialist Singers.

My concert begins at 8pm and it’s £5 to get in. It’s a full two hour gig and I’m really looking forward to it.

Tickets must be bought in advance from Kirkby Unemployed Centre in Westhead Avenue, Northwood, Kirkby, L33 0XN or call 0151 548 0001 or email them at enquiries@kuc.org.uk

Parry, Peas and Pastie – Bolton Gig This Friday

I’m in Bolton on Friday doing a full two hour show. Come along.

As well as me, you get a “pastie and peas supper” too.

It’s at Derby Ward Labour Club on Deane Road in Bolton (BL3 5AH). There’s a map on my gigs page that shows it’s not far from the train station.

It’s just £6 to get in (£1 for children) and I’ve got a really cracking show lined up, so I’d love to see you there.

You can get tickets by contacting Bolton Unison Branch Office on 01204 338901 – although the organisers have assured me that it’ll be fine to come on spec and pay on the door too.

Doors open at 7pm. I’ll be starting at 8pm on the dot. Do come along.
