14189_10152400932625326_6848466730827933222_nI will be playing a few tunes at The Brink on Thursday night along with Lizzie Nunnery and Mark Byrne.

But the main event is the recitals of amazing Palestinian poetry from the book “A Bird Is Not A Stone”.

A Bird is Not a Stone, (Freight Books, Glasgow) is the first major collection of contemporary Palestinian poetry translated by some of Scotland’s finest writers and poets. It is a beautiful and timely expression of cultural solidarity and internationalism.

A Bird is not a Stone has been touring the UK. Four of the poets are coming to perform at The Brink, in Liverpool, on Thurs 21st of August.

This will be a free event with a collection at the end. All monies raised from this event will go straight to Palestinian NGO’s as identified by Liverpool Friends Of Palestine and University of Liverpool Friends of Palestine.

Please come along for what promises to be a fabulous night of poetry and music.
