Alun Parry To Support Andy Irvine at The Phil
Liverpool folk singer and songwriter Alun Parry will be the official support to the legendary Andy Irvine at The Phil’s Rodewald Suite over two nights this April.
Irvine is one of the great Irish singers. His voice is one of a handful of truly great ones that gets to the very soul of Ireland.
He is a founding member of two groundbreaking groups, Sweeney’s Men and Planxty. Both groups have inspired Irish traditional music makers for a generation.
Irvine is a world music pioneer and icon for traditional music and musicians.
Alun said, “I’m delighted be supporting Andy Irvine. To think that last year he was at The Phil I was actually in the audience as a fan! It will be a great night of music and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Andy Irvine and Alun Parry will be performing on the 27th & 28th April 2012. Tickets are on sale at The Philharmonic and their website at £12.
