Gary Kaye Adds Dessie To His Set List
One of my favourite performers on the UK circuit is Yorkshire troubadour Gary Kaye (pictured). I’m delighted to let you all know that he has added my song My Name Is Dessie Warren to his set list, so fans of Gary can hear his version live very soon.
I’ve gigged with Gary a few times now, most notably at a cracking little gig at The Red Shed. Still one of my most memorable gigs. More recently Gary and I shared a bill here in Liverpool to support the very long running Leeds refuse workers strike. For the record, the workers won!
He also shares my passion for football. Indeed, he was once the official poet-in-residence at Leeds United no less. Thankfully, our football chats have always been far more amicable than those that took place between Kevin Keegan and Billy Bremner.
Well known for his fantastic sing-a-long song about the evils of Coca Cola, I’m delighted that Gary will now be singing My Name Is Dessie Warren too.
Check out my version and find out the story behind the song by clicking here. Or you can visit Gary Kaye’s Myspace too.
If any other singers want to sing my songs, please do drop me a line. I’m very keen for others to sing my songs and consider it a great honour.
