New Album: Front Cover Revealed
Here is the front cover of my forthcoming album. Do you like it? Leave me a comment.
The painting is Liverpool Dockers At Dawn from 1903, painted by the French artist Victor Francois Tardieu.
The cover design is by Sue Soupy Parry (no relation, even though she has convinced half of Liverpool that she’s my daughter!).
Preorder the album now and save yourself some money. It’s £10 plus postage if you preorder. It’ll be £15 in the shops. Click the button now to buy.

Very evocative, got a touch of Lowry about it. Any chance of getting a review copy of your album for both my newspaper and my blog site?

Yes Danny. And if anyone can think of any other reviewers it would be worth contacting then please let me know.

Yes, Alun perfect cover for an album by your good self and great sentiment. How do you use other peoples art, do you need permission or anything like that? just curious :). Can’t wait for it :D

My Family worked the South-end Docks at the turn of the Century and to their decline. The Cover is very evocative of their memories and stories. Thankyou.

Paul, its from 1903 so it’s out of copyright. Soupy had access to a public domain hi res so that was sorted. Normally I’ve approached the artist/photographer and sought permission.

Robert, I love your comment. My grandad was a docker too so I have a strong pull to this kind of imagery. It’s a lovely painting isn’t it.

Great cover
Over the water, though – is there a Birkenhead theme to this?
alunparry - June 4, 2013 @ 11:34 pm
Thanks Peter and Dave.
Jeremy, did I not mention it’s a concept album about the Wirral ;-)

As you can now see, the name of the album has been changed to When The Sunlight Shines – an optimistic title for an optimistic upbeat album.
