Wigan Diggers Festival

I’m extremely proud to be playing the Wigan Diggers Festival on the 8th September.

I’m on the main stage at 1.40 (this is a correction to the earlier information)

It’s a FREE Open Air Festival celebrating the life and ideas of Wigan born and bred Gerrard Winstanley (1609-1676) & the 17th Century Diggers’ (True Leveller) Movement.

There will be tons to do including an audio visual presentation, exhibition, food and other stalls, plus live entertainment over two stages featuring a range of bands, acoustic artists and radical poets.

There will also be a repeat showing of the film “Winstanley”, a symbolic 17th Century Diggers’
re-enactment, and more, as a great deal has yet to be finalised. A special commemorative ‘Diggers 1649 Ale’ and ‘Gerrard Winstanley Ale’ have also been commissioned for the Festival.

Performers so far confirmed include:

Alun Parry (that’s me!)
The Shook Ups
Glassheads
Dead Shores
Claire Mooney
John The Baptist & The 2nd Coming (originally billed ‘Midwich Assembly’)
Class Actions
Kieran Devlin
